Drystone Walling for Beginners

Ever wondered how to make a traditional Cotswold drystone wall? Join us at Foxburrow Wood to find out. In this beginners' course with an experienced local drystone waller, you will learn about: stripping down a wall, grading and sorting stone, base stones, building stones, throughs and toppers. Using local oolitic limestone and local methods, you will gain experience with the tools and techniques necessary to build a drystone wall in the Cotswold style.
All tools and equipment will be provided.
The course is held at Foxburrow Wood, Witney 9.30am to 4.30pm. We will meet in the carpark off Foxburrow Lane, Witney, OX29 9XL. (The post code is not precise as the site doesn't have a postal address! It gets you to Foxburrow Lane though.)
